Egyptian composer Hilmi Baker has revealed in a recent press conference over the details of the upcoming Arabic Music Awards Festival that recent rumors of his secret marriage to Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi are an innocent April Fools joke. A magazine had published that Hilmi and Haifa had married four years ago and the fruit of their marriage was a baby boy.
Hilmi stressed that the news did not anger him due to the fact that it was a joke just to create some excitement. It was revealed that the rumor had created noise as some people were shocked to read the news not knowing whether to believe it or if it is just another creation of the media.
The rumor that the magazine had published included a complete scenario of how the two supposedly met and the pregnancy of Haifa, which the magazine said that the singer had stayed home all through her pregnancy fearing that people will find out about the wedding. It even added that Haifa was applying for an Egyptian citizenship for her son and was in the process of doing all the legal paperwork.
Recently, Wahbi was on a visit to the United States of America to be part of the casting for the new film "Ali Baba" by Lebanese born film producer Elie Samaha, who is the Chairman/CEO of Franchise Pictures, which has fast become one of the most prolific production and co-financing companies in the entertainment industry. Haifa’s visit was for three weeks where she met Samaha after she was nominated to be in Elie's film "Ali Baba" alongside international actor Antonio Bandares and Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury. –Albawaba.com
