Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi denied recent circulating rumors that she has gotten married to a wealthy Arab and quit her career. The singer stressed that she is not currently involved in any relationship and does not intend on being so for the time being, reported the Egyptian weekly, Al Nogoom.
Haifa added that despite the weakness of her voice, she is proud of the success she has so far achieved as a singer. The singer noted that she does not consider herself to be talented as a singer but rather as a performer. She has the tendency to perform her songs and that is what has given her notice in the music industry. She added that she does not mind the negative criticism she has received from the media for the mere fact that she admitted her capabilities the moment she decided to become a singer.
Wahbi has stressed that she is not willing to change her style in singing and performance despite the continuous criticism she has been receiving. Haifa said that the fact that many Arab satellite television stations have stopped airing her music videos due to the seductive dancing, does not affect her success in any way.
Haifa added that it is not her intention to be seductive, but rather this is how she performs and people have come to appreciate her style regardless of what some critics say. The success she has gained in such a short period of time is enough proof that her style of performance should not be tampered with, for that is what people want.
Wahbi also revealed that she is currently undergoing extensive singing lessons to improve her voice and her performance. The singer is also practicing on her performance style saying she feels that it is the wisest decision she made since she took on singing.
Haifa is also working on releasing a new album which she says will surprise her fans in ways they never imagined possible. She admitted that she had not put in all her efforts in her first album for she was saving all her talents for her upcoming release. She added that her upcoming album is surely to create a shock to all her fans for they will see her in a way they never had before.
The singer had also said that she is hoping on shooting two more songs from her first album in the form of a music video before shooting any of the songs from the new one. - Albawaba.com
