Saudi businessman Tareq Al Jafali has abruptly called off his engagement to Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi. Sources revealed that Tareq took this step as a result of pressure from his family, who insisted that he leave Haifa, stressing that she would not make a suitable wife.
Haifa only recently announced her engagement to 29-year-old Tareq, after a love affair that lasted several months.
The couple held a private engagement party, in which he presented her with a set of diamonds and a 2004 Porsche, valued at 250 thousand US dollars.
Haifa announced her engagement on her reality television program “Al Wadi” (The Ranch,) on which the singer raised her right hand to show her engagement ring to the participants and the audience.
Amidst a crowd of prestigious jewelry designers and journalists from Lebanon and around the Arab world, Haifa launched her new jewelry collection titled ‘Haifa’s Jewelry.’
Haifa launched her new line at a grand ceremony in Lebanon donning an elegant set from her own collection. The singer gave a short speech in which she thanked those in attendance, and celebrated this moment as a dream come true.
The new line of jewelry consists of fine diamonds, white and yellow gold, and precious stones. Each piece is engraved with the letter ‘H,’ the trademark of Haifa’s collection.
