Lebanese director Randa Alshihal has revealed that singer Haifa Wahbi will play a leading role in a new film alongside a French boxer, named Ibrahim Saloum who is of Arab origin. Haifa will play the role of a club owner who gets involved with the boxer and his friends in kidnapping three of Ibrahim’s rivals.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the film features a number of entertaining scenes that include different musical and dance performances. The director is currently negotiating with American star Harvey Kettle the possibility of joining the cast of the film, which will be produced by Tunisian producer Tareq Bin Amar.
Filming of the scenes is scheduled to begin during the month of April on location in Tunisia.
Haifa’s business manager has revealed that the rumor of Haifa’s banning from Morocco holds no truth to it, and the singer was given permission to enter and she is currently there.
It was rumored that Moroccan officials rejected a request by Haifa to hold a charity concert for HIV research.
After submitting a request for permission to enter the country, Haifa was surprisingly denied. The European sponsor of the event was forced to relocate the concert to Tunisia, where Haifa is allowed to perform. The proposed concert will take place on April 10.
Wahbi will participate in a press conference in the capital of Morocco to nominate internationally renown American talk show host Operah Winfrey for a Noble Peace Prize for the campaign she launched to fight the spread HIV.
Haifa is currently filming the new music video for the song ‘Rajab’ with director Hadi Al Bajouri. In the new clip, Haifa plays the role of a gypsy who ends up at a coffee house near the sea packed with fishermen where she meets a man named ‘Rajab.’ She seeks Rajab’s assistance to win the love of his handsome friend.
