New Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi, who was a model previously, has announced that she will be hold three different New Years Eve performances. Her first performance will be with Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher at the Bristol Hotel in Beirut, the second will be at the Cassino, and her third performance will be with Lebanese singer Yuri Imra’adi.
Earlier this month Haifa was contemplating in her head whether or not to sing alongside Kathem El Sahir. Haifa’s decision came after she realized that singing with Kathem is a chance she should not pass up adding tremendously to her career and so she accepted the offer and two others for the night.
Haifa told the London based Elaph that she finds no difficulty in having to go from one concert to the next to host her three performances. She added that the time span between each concert gives her enough time to move around and prepare herself.
Wahbi is currently working on filming a music video from her latest album with director Salim Al Turk, who also filmed her only music video “Tagool Ahwak” (You Say I Love You).
The video was said to have included seductive scenes that cannot be permitted by the censors. Many critics say that Wahbi's music style is easily distinguished from other singers, using her seductive figure and voice as a mean to attract her audience.
The singer had just returned from Syria after being the guest on one of the talk shows. She will be travelling to Jordan in the near future to sign agreements to hold a number of concerts.
After the huge success she received for her album "Huwa el Zaman" (It's the Time), Haifa announced that she is to quit modeling with no intentions to any return dedicating all her time to her musical career. "Though lots of people advised me to stick to modeling, I decided to leave this stage behind me, moving on to add a singing career to my portfolio," Wahbi said.
Despite all criticism Wahbi faced concerning the shift in career last year, she stuck her ground and continued recording her ten-song album "Huwa el Zaman", which took her almost a year to complete. - Albawaba.com
