A special press conference will be held to celebrate the honoring of Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi with an award for most popular and influential figure for the year 2005. The Arab website Elaph held a special poll to see which person was most popular and most of the votes came in favor of Haifa amounting to over 60% of total votes.
The press conference will feature a number of journalists from Lebanon and around the Arab world, and will mark the first ever to be held by an Arab website.
Wahbi is scheduled to take part in the Muscat Arts Festival in February and will be holding a performance on February 3. After her stop in Oman, Haifa will return to Lebanon where she will be holding a number of concerts in different cities.
Haifa is scheduled to begin filming the scenes for her upcoming film, directed by Ellie Samaha.
The singer’s managing office stated that the singer has not yet made a final decision on whether she will renew her contract with production company ‘Rotana.’ Rumors claim there is a possibility that Haifa will be moving to ‘Alam El Phan Production Company,’ owned by Muhsin Jaber.
This move comes at a time when the singer’s three-year contract has ended and she expressed trepidation over renewing it for a second term.
