Negotiations are currently underway between Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi and Egyptian actor Mustafa Amar regarding the script and scenario for the film “Autograph”. Amar writes the story of the film, which marks Mustafa’s second film experience himself and the scenario by Aiman Bahjat Amar under the direction of Mohammad Al Najar.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the final contracts will be signed once an agreement is reached by both sides on all the small and large details of the film. Haifa had recently returned to Lebanon holding a concert Egypt with over one thousand people attending, sponsored by the Alexandria Rotary club. While in Egypt, Haifa was the guest of honor on Dream TV in which the producers surprised her with the music video for the song “Wahdi” (All Alone) from her latest album as their special gift.

Haifa revealed that the video was shot in a way that was one hundred percent natural with no acting or previous preparations and without her knowledge. The singer added that she is currently preparing for her upcoming album in which she is cooperating with composers from Egypt and Lebanon. In Lebanon, Haifa was honored by NDU university for being the best young female artist.

Haifa noted that she is currently refraining from holding any performances or any other sort of entertainment in solidarity with the Iraqi people who are living through the harsh conditions of the US-led war. She said that she feels it would be very insensitive of her or any other singer to hold any form of entertainment while people are being slaughtered. The scenes brought by the coverage of the war has caused her to fall into a depressive state of mind.

After the success she received for her album "Huwa el Zaman" (It's the Time), Haifa announced that she is to quit modeling with no intentions to any return dedicating all her time to her musical career. "Though lots of people advised me to stick to modeling, I decided to leave this stage behind me, moving on to add a singing career to my portfolio," Wahbi said.

Despite all criticism Wahbi faced concerning the shift in career last year, she stuck her ground and continued recording her ten-song album "Huwa el Zaman", which took her almost a year to complete. - Albawaba.com
