Young Egyptian actress Hala Shiha is being subjected to various attacks from actors, directors and production companies because of her adamant refusal to appear as a ‘model’ in a music video.
According to Al Masa’a newspaper, the actress has said “I am facing a war after I refused to be in a music video with one of the singers,” adding “I asked for a huge amount of money from the singer, so that the rejection would come from them.”
However, her trick backfired.
“I was surprised when all of a sudden all the major production companies and some directors decided not to deal with me in any way,” she said.
Meanwhile, Shiha took the opportunity to respond to another series of attacks; this time involving her dress code.
“I do not rely on ‘freedom’ in my clothing and I make it a point to wear, in my roles, what I wear in my everyday life.”
The actress added “I wear what every girl of my generation wears and through that I am trying to portray my generation as best as I can.”
Shiha also answered allegations of problems she faced with her colleagues during the filming of her latest movie, Leih Khalletni Ahibbak (Why Did You Let Me Love You).
“I gave a great performance in my role for this movie. But, there were some problems during filming that were not my fault.”
She blamed her “lack of experience” for enabling her colleagues to point the finger at her. “However, I prevailed and finished the film and I became a friend to all after the filming because I gained more experience in the movie industry with every day that past; that was something I needed desperately,” said Shiha. – Albawaba.com.
