Hala Shiha Waiting

Young Egyptian actress Hala Shiha has just completed shooting the scenes for her two upcoming films, consecutively, and now awaits their screening.

Hala stars alongside Egyptian singer Mohammad Foad in “Ghawi Hubb,” (translation) in which she plays the wife of a corrupt man.  The film is scheduled for screening during the Muslim holiday, Eid Al Fitr.

The film was delayed several times for a number of reasons.  First, director Mohammad Kamal Al Shinawi withdrew from the film, claiming that Foad was constantly harassing him over small details, and then Majdi Al Huwari politely excused himself from the film’s production.

Hala’s second film is “Ureedo Khal’an” (I want a divorce), also starring Ashraf Abdul Baqi.

Hala hopes her new films will ameliorate her image, which has been tarnished by her withdrawal from several films at the last minute.  Hala also wants to make a place for herself amongst famous young actresses like Muna Zaki and Hannan Turk.

Hala denied rumors that she demanded an inflated salary, which lead to her absence from television. The actress stated that her participation in the new television drama “Raj’elik Ya Iskindiria” (I’m Coming Back Alexandria) is proof that the rumor is a fallacy.

Hala stated that she feels producers have given her fair wages for her roles, and the reason she has not taken part in television dramas as of late, is due to her preoccupation with different films.
