Hanan Turk denies insulting Al Azhar
Egyptian actress Hanan Turk revealed that she is suffering from psychological problems and she treats them personally through the holy Quran and following the teachings of Islam. She added that God presented people with a cure for every ailment in the holy Quran.
With regards to allegations that she insulted the Islamic Supreme Council Al Azhar in her television drama “Nouna Al Ma’thounah” (Nouna the Clerk), the actress denied all accusations and stressed that she did not intend to insult the holy sanctity of the Al Azhar by wearing their official dress in the drama.
Hanan stated that members of Al Azhar considered Hanan wearing their official dress an insult for her being a woman and acting in a comedy drama. The actress stressed that she wore the official dress of Al Azhar because the role she was playing was of a clerk that called for such attire. Hanan revealed that before airing the drama a number of scenes were omitted due to opposition received from Al Azhar and she and the makers of the drama respected their wishes and made all necessary changes to the drama.
