Egyptian singer Hani Shaker has slated the first half of July for the release of his upcoming album, featuring 11 songs, including several romantic melodies.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Hani has decided to film the song “Urbi Leek” (My Closeness to You) in the form of a music video and will use it to promote his album. The clip will be filmed between Alexandria and Beirut under the direction of Jameel Al Ghazi.
Hani denied circulating rumors that he has signed a contract with the production company ‘Rotana.’ Rotana did not make him an offer worthy of his accomplishments and talent as a singer, he explained.
He expressed concern that the company is already “overcrowded with singers,” and he would not be given his due attention.
‘Rotana’ and ‘Alam El Phan’ are both eagerly trying to convince Hani for the rights to production; however Hani has shown no interest in dealing with either company.
In fact, Hani has announced that he intends on financing the production of his upcoming album himself.
The singer explained that he broke his cooperation with ‘Alam El Phan’ because it failed to provide the right advertising campaign for his latest album, resulting in low record sales.
Hani stated that he wants to give production a try, especially after the poor showing from his last album, which only sold 50 thousand original copies.
