Hannan Turk denies resignation

Egyptian actress Hannan Turk has denied circulating rumors that she has resigned. She stressed that her turning down the offer to play the leading role in the film “Akid Yukad” (A Contract being Signed) is due to the fact that she simply wants to take a short vacation after a busy season.
The actress had starred in the television drama “Awlad Al Shawarie” (Children of the Streets) and the films “Kas wa Laziq” (Cut and Paste) and “Ahlam Hakikieh” (Real Dreams), which she costars in alongside Khaled Saleh and Fathi Abdul Wahab.
Hannan stated that she wishes to use the upcoming few months on concentrating on the new children’s magazine “Nouna”, which she hopes to launch.
According to the daily, ‘Al Watan’, Hannan revealed that she will begin preparing to work on a new television drama for next Ramadan titled “Awatif Mantika Ta’leemieh” (Feelings of an Educated Area) written by Shahira Salam and directed by Shireen Adel.
On a different note, Hannan is not ready to divorce her husband yet.
Her husband said that he and his wife are separated due to personal problems, but asserted he did not and will never divorce her. Hannan's recent disappearance from the spotlight fueled rumors that the two had split for good.
Hannan said that problems between her and her husband over personal matters, which she did not disclose, led to the separation.
The couple faced many problems during their ten year marriage, but never divorced since they have two children, Yousef and Adam.
Hannan asserted that her decision to wear a Hijab, an Islamic headdress, is not the main reason for her marital problems, and her mother-in-law even encouraged it.
