For months, young Egyptian actor Hannan Turk has been hinting she will begin wearing an Islamic headdress, the Hijab.
Hannan has finally taken the big step, according to the London based Elaph. The news is buzzing across a number of Arab satellite television channels, considered a major shock to the entertainment world.
Hannan has joined the many actors who have chosen to continue their careers while wearing a Hijab, like actress Hala Shiha, who recently returned to the scenes.
Hisham Sulieman, the producer of Hannan's upcoming television drama "Awlad Shaware" (Street Children), has confirmed the actor will be filming her scenes wearing a Hijab.
The production company of Hannan's upcoming film "Ahlam Hakikieh" (Real Dreams) has confirmed that filming will resume. It has not been revealed how Hannan will appear in the film – with, or without a hijab.
The movie also stars young Egyptian actors Khaled Saleh, Dalia Al Buhairi and Fathi Abdul Wahab. The story follows the life of a group of young adults with simple dreams of love. The cast stated that the story is a mixture of reality and illusion, and revolves around transforming dreams, good or bad, into real life events.
The film, written by Mohammad Diab and directed by Mohammad Juma'a, is produced by Century Films, the same company that produced "The Seventh Sense" last year.
Hanna is also preparing to shoot the first scenes of her upcoming film “Issabit El Doctor Omar” (Dr. Omar’s Gang), alongside Egyptian singer Mustafa Amar.
The film is directed by Ali Idrees and Mustafa, the same charismatic duo that produced the film “Hareem Kareem” (Kareem’s Woman).
The new comedy revolves around a doctor who is infatuated with singing and tries to form his own band.
