Egyptian singer Hisham Abbas is currently undergoing extensive working session with scenarist Mohammad Al Nasser to place the final touches on his upcoming film "Al Mughani" (The Singer) script. The two are trying to finalize all the small details of the film in order to have it ready for filming in the very near future.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Hisham is very careful with all the elements in the film since it will mark his first acting experience. The theme in the film will be a romantic comedy, in which Hisham hopes to make a successful debut in. The film is expected to be directed by Tariq Al Iryan, which he will begin work on after completing the movie he is shooting at the current time.
During the US-led war on Iraq, Hisham sang the song "Bi Ay Haq" (With What Right) exclusively for the suffering Iraqi people. The singer feels that through his song, he is better able to portray his feelings and views towards the US-British unjust war on Iraq.
Upon completion of the recording process, Hisham resumed shooting th music video for the song, which was directed by Adel Adeeb. The singer had expressed his sorrow and anger towards what happened in Iraq especially since innocent children and civilians were the ones most affected.
Hisham added that "With What Right" is his way of contributing to the Iraqi people, in the sense that the song will show to the world how unjust the attack on them was. The song is written by poet Rabi' Al Saioufi, composed by Amro Mustafa and distributed by Hani Jacob.
On a different note, Abbas had earlier decided to add a collection of Mohammad Abdul Wahab’s songs which he intends to include in his new album. Hisham said that he does not intend to limit himself to singing only Abdo’s songs, but hope that he will get the chance to sing the songs of other prominent singers. The trend of singers singing for others has been a phenomenon helping some achieves success. Abbas hopes to find the success Midhat Saleh, who sang over 30 songs for other great singers, found.
Born in Cairo, Hisham graduated as a mechanical engineer, but ended up having a career in music. "Though nobody in my family is into music, I was always musically inclined. I was 16 when I started singing and had my own band called Bats." He studied engineering to please his father, who’s also an engineer.
