Egyptian actor Hussain Fahmi asked director Abdul Hamid to decide on the set dates to begin shooting the scenes for the new TV drama series "Al Imbrator" (The Emperor). His request came due to his busy schedule in shooting a number of other scenes for a film, costarring with Ahmad Al Saqqa, and a TV series "Al Farashat Tahtariq Da'iman" (Butterflies Always Burn) at the same time, the UAE based daily Al Bayan reported.
In "The Emperor", Hussain plays the role of a man who began his life a penniless man and through determination and hard work become one of the most prominent businessmen. He will be playing two characters one of the loving husband to Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen, who costars in the film, and that of the son.
After a four-year dissention, Fahmi made peace with the cinema in June last year, as he took part in a romantic comedy film entitled Ya Albi Esbaani (my heart lead me). The director Mohammed Abdel Aziz nominated Fahmi to star in the comedy film Ya Albi Esbaani along with Hanan Turk and Hani Salameh.
The film depicts a strong relationship between an old man (played by Fahmi) and a small girl (Hanan Turk). The old man is mad in his love to the girl who is busy in another love story with a young man of her age (Hani Salameh).
“My dispute with the cinema was due to the skeptical scripts which I used to receive. The new script which I accepted carries a big meaning of romance which the cinema industry has been lacking for a long time,” Fahmi said.
Fahmi’s latest film has been “Jaafar al Masri” Disappearance which he shot four years ago. Costarring in the film along with Fahmi are Noor al Sherif and Raghdah. -- Albawaba.com
