An agreement has been made between the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Mamdouh al Biltagi and the head of the Association of International Feature Film Producers, Orillo De Laurintis to produce a joint social comedy film between the two countries.

The film is about a voyage in the Nile during which the participants visit the most prominent touristic attractions in Egypt. They will tour Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abi Sumbol and Sharm al Sheikh.

The stars who will play roles in the film have not been nominated yet.

During his current visit to Egypt, Laurintis announced that the film would be screened at all the Italian venues during the forthcoming Christmas holidays anticipating that about four million people would see it.

Biltagi said that his ministry was ready to provide all facilities needed to help the success of the film, which is considered a new addition to the international series of films, which take place in Egypt. He reiterated that the film would convey a real image about Egypt to the Italians.

The Egyptian minister requested the Italian director to submit the details about the film in order to identify the resources needed so that the production will come at a level consistent with Egypt’s touristic reputation in coordination with both the ministries of finance and culture.

For 25 years Orillo de Laurintis has directed many films that tackled social issues and in which he shed light on a number of touristic attractions including Amsterdam and Saint Morris -- Albawaba.com
