The Syrian actress Jomanah Murad denied what’s been spreading about her playing the role of the late singer “Asmahan” in the new television drama series “Farid Al Atrash”. The new series is about the life journey of the late singer ‘Farid Al Atrash’ who is also ‘Asmahan’s’ brother.
Jomanah made clear that what was written about her playing the new role is not true and she said that she could never perform in any project that she could be seen vague and ignored. She added that she had previously refused playing the same role for the television drama series “Asmahan” which was aired on television last Ramadan season.
According to the London daily Elaph, Jomanah doesn’t know who is behind such rumors that said she will be playing Asmahan, because all what happened is that she was offered the role and she refused it. Jomanah revealed no intention to star in any Egyptian television drama roles and just wants to focus on her cinema projects. For the time being she is working on her new film “Shaban Al Faris” starring with Egyptian comedian Ahmad Adam.
She is filming the outside scenes that are taking place in Alexandria, and revealed that she and the film crew are racing with time because they want to have the film ready for “Eid Al Adha” season.
On the other hand Jomanah is getting ready to start filming her new role in the new film “Al Farah” (Happiness) with producer Al Sabki. There will be many stars from the film “Cabaret” who will also star in “Al Farah”.
As for television drama she said that there is a new project that she is getting ready to produce and star in, once the scenario is done with. She is also preparing to start on the fourth and fifth seasons of the famous Syrian drama series “Bab Al Harah” (Neighborhood Door).
