It seems like the role that famous Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam plays in the play “Al Za’eem” (The Leader) is becoming part of his daily life. The role of a dictator who shuns people off has become a way of life to the famous comedian and the Jordanian fans were not pleased with it. Imam’s Jordanian fans were desperately waiting for the play, yet they were very disappointed by his rude behavior.
According to the London daily Elaph, Imam’s rude behavior started at the press conference, which was held a few days before his play “Body Guard” in Amman Jordan. The famous comedian treated the journalist as if he was above them. He was interrupting them in a rude manner. He went as far as to give them a lesson in journalism and how to ask their questions. Any question Imam did not like he simply didn’t answer.
In another incident Imam stopped a scene from the play because one of the fans stood up and started taking pictures. He insisted not to continue until the camera was taken away. If this wasn’t enough another fan came up to Adel Imam while he was having lunch at the Radisson Sass and asked if she can take a picture with him he said “Of course Not”.
Adel Imam went as far as shutting the door in the face of the Jordanian University President when he came with his wife and kids to shake his hand.
Imam’s behavior might be accepted from a new and rising star that is over whelmed with his fame; however, this comes as a shock from someone who’s been in the business for as long as he has.
