Syrian TV star Karis Bashar appeared during last Ramadan in only two small roles in the silent series Lashu al Haki (What is Talking For) and Sehr al Sharq (East Charm). She has been busy with her first movie.
Bashar has wrap up the shooting of her first film Sundook al Dunia (Life Box) directed by Osama Mohammed. The film is the first joint Syrian-French film as it is produced by the Damascus-based General Cinema Corporation and the French Abib firm.
The Syrian director, who also wrote the script for his latest work, showed off magnificent abilities in his first film, Nujoom al Nahar (Day Stars), which won many awards.
Nevertheless, he had to wait for five years until he was finally allowed to shoot his second film at the end of last April, despite the fact that he has been working for the Syrian cinema corporation since he graduated from the Moscow Cinema Institute at the end of 1979.
Costarring in the film along with Bashar, Rafiq al Sebaie, Fares al Hilo, Bassam Kusa, Zuher Abdel Karim, Ali Mohammed, Nihal al Khatib, Maha al Saleh, Amal Umran and Hala Umran.
But the four actual stars of the film include the children Mustafa Sbeih, Ghiyath Ghannam, Mohammed Hamad and Merna Ghannam.
