Kathem El Saher around the world

Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher is scheduled to arrive to Beirut in the coming days to give several performances, and may appear as a guest on a Lebanese television program.
According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Kathem just returned from London where he held a grand performance at the Royal Albert Hall. The concert drew over five thousand Arabs from across Europe, and proceeds went directly to needy Iraqi children.
Kathem also held concerts in Qatar and Sudan in March. Traditionally, the singer likes to hold performances around the Arab world to connect with his fans.
Kathem is preparing for the release of his upcoming album, including a variety of songs in the Iraqi dialect. The singer recently released a music video for the song "El Ibnaiah" (The Girl), and intends on filming a new one for the song "Mirtibta ao ma Mirtibta" (Are you Engaged or Not), which he compsed.
In April, Kathem will visit Cairo to hold a number of performances, in addition to recording some of the songs for his new album.
Interestingly, listeners of an Iraqi radio station nominated El Saher for the position of President or Prime Minister of Iraq in a recent opinion poll. Almost 80% of the Baghdad listeners voted for Kathem, considering him the most suitable person for such a position and believing he can make a real difference.
One listerner chose Kathem for such a position because "Iraqis are sick and tired of war, and always fearing for their lives. People are in dire need of some peace and happiness... some people even feel that a woman should be elected for the Presidency in order to bring some form of morality to the country."
