Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher is currently between studios in Paris and Cairo recording new songs for his upcoming album. Kathem has recently completed the filming of two new music videos one for the song “Ashko Ayaman” from his latest album, and the second “Hadid Kaser”, which he had sung thirteen years ago, reported the London based Elaph.

The new album by Kathem, which was released recently, is witnessing significant success among fans around the Arab world, who were anxiously waiting for an album that defines the true meaning of music unlike what is being released in the music industry by unqualified persons claiming to be singers.

The Music Production Company Rotana released the album “Ila Tilmethuh” (For His Student) for Kathem after endless delay. Kathem had submitted the final copy of the album in mid-August, but the company had postponed the release several times for unclear reasons.

The songs of the album are Kathem’s own composition and features several songs that are expected to find significant success among his fans. Kathem has also submitted the music video for the song “Ahibini Bila Ukad” (Love Me without any Restraints) under the direction of Jordanian director Hussein Du’aibis in order to have it launched on Rotana’s satellite music channel as a promotion for his album. Kathem chose Egyptian actress Hanan Turk for the leading role in his new music video, which is written by the late renown Lebanese poet Nizar Qabani.

Recently, a Tunisian court has released a verdict against Kathem to pay a fine of 36 thousand US dollars to famous Tunisian concert sponsor El Said Lasa’ed. The case goes back to 1993 when the singer had signed a contract with the sponsor to hold a tour around different Tunisian cities, but Kathem did not live up to his side of the bargain and cut his tour short.
