Kathem El Saher prepares big surprises for his audience
Renowned Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher is placing the final touches on his upcoming album, which he hopes to release next month. The album features twelve new songs sung in different dialects and vary from poetic to patriotic.
One of the songs in the album is dedicated to the Iraqi nation and expresses true feelings of how war has destroyed so many lives. Kathem will present his audience with many surprises in his album in terms of composition and words of songs. Kathem was very careful in choosing the words of his songs wanting them to revolve around humanistic and romantic themes.
According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, Kathem is scheduled to meet his Jordanian fans during the annual summer festival Jarash. Kathem will hold two concerts during the festival, marking his fourth time participation.
Recently, Tunisian President Zein Al Abadin Bin Ali has honored Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher during a special ceremony held in celebration of the National Cultural Day. The event was attended by a large crowed of thinkers, singers, people from the entertainment world, political figures, the press, and businessmen.
The President honored Kathem for his outstanding achievements in spreading the Arabic song making it reach endless boundaries, in addition to his long history of singing for social and just causes.
Recently, El Saher held a charity concert in London, which proceeds went to different projects for helping Iraqi children. The singer’s performance took place at the Royal Albert Hall and was sponsored by the Malkonian organization. This is the second time for Kathem to hold a concert in the same place; the first one was back in 1997 alongside Tunisian singer Latifa.
Officials of the organization, which is known for holding numerous charitable events, stressed that their past experience with Kathem was their assurance to the success of the concert. It was revealed that the only reason Kathem has not held a concert for the organization in such a long time is due to the fact that he was tied to a different sponsor.
The head of the organization revealed that his concern for the wellbeing of children, especially the Iraqi ones, was the only aim of the performances. He has ensured that all the proceeds will go into helping children and hopefully be able to provide them with the basic necessities of life. –Albawaba.com
