Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher is scheduled to hold a concert in Sudan on April 21, 2005 to celebrate the choosing of Khartoum as this year’s Culture Capital for the year 2005. The concert will mark the first time Kathem sings in Sudan, paving the way for more singers to start holding performances.
According to the London based Elaph, Kathem recently inaugurated this year’s Formula One race in Bahrain. The singer was invited by the organizing committee of the race to be the guest of honor.
El Saher is currently between studios in Paris and Cairo recording new songs for his upcoming album. Kathem has recently completed the filming of two new music videos one for the song “Ashko Ayaman” from his latest album, and the second “Hadid Kaser”, which he had sung thirteen years ago.
The new album by Kathem, which was released recently, is witnessing significant success among fans around the Arab world, who were anxiously waiting for an album that defines the true meaning of music unlike what is being released in the music industry by unqualified persons claiming to be singers.
The Music Production Company Rotana released the album “Ila Tilmethuh” (For His Student) for Kathem after endless delay. Kathem had submitted the final copy of the album in mid-August, but the company had postponed the release several times for unclear reasons.
