Kylie Minogue and Nickelback will headline two of the three Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concerts at du Arena on Yas Island this November, it was announced on Sunday. The third act in the entertainment series linked to the Formula One, called Yasalam (“wow” in Arabic), will be named later, said organisers Flash Entertainment. The concerts are exclusively for F1™ ticket holders

Minogue -- celebrating 25 years in the music industry this year -- will make her Abu Dhabi debut (she played in Dubai for the opening of Atlantis The Palm in 2008), on Friday, November 2. Fans can expect her to relive her hits from her debut in the 80s -- with songs like I Should Be So Lucky” and “Locomotion” to recent hits from her album Aphrodite. Her year-long celebration, called K25 includes greatest hits collections, a new single, “Timebomb” and embarked on her Anti Tour, with little theatrics and playing only b-sides, demos and rarities from her music catalogue, getting rave reviews.

Canadian rock band Nickelback will follow Mingue with a concert on November 3 on Yas Island. Having sold more than 50 million albums, the “How You Remind Me” rockers will also play tracks from their seventh album, “Here and Now”, released last year.

Details of the Sunday finale concert -- previous acts include Aerosmith, Prince and Paul McCartney -- will be announced later, said Flash, adding that a previously announced competition will no longer take place.

“We’ve had some fantastic performances at Yasalam over the years, and we’re delighted that as the festival enters a fourth year we are welcoming Kylie Minogue and Nickelback to Abu Dhabi. They are both huge acts, and continue to build on the festival’s commitment to providing world-class live events in and around the race weekend for residents and visitors to enjoy,” said John Lickrish, CEO of FLASH Entertainment, “We are also excited about Sunday of course, and promise fans it will finish off the weekend in style!”

Entry to the concerts is for F1 ticektholders only, although this year -- the fourth installment of Yasalam, will have some differences. Each day of the race, 2,000 Golden Circle upgrades for that night’s concert will be given away free at Yas Marina Circuit. For Minogue’s Friday concert, the first 15,000 domestic ticket buyers will receive a pair of complimentary invitations to see Kylie Minogue, in order to take along two friends.
