Laila Elwi denies resignation from the cinema

Prominent Egyptian actress Laila Elwi denied circulating rumors that she intends on resigning from the cinema after the crisis she faced with her latest film “Bahib El Cima” (I Love the Cinema.)
Laila also asserted that she is not romantically involved with a man, who has asked her hand in marriage on the condition that she resigns from the cinema, at the same time has no problem with her acting in television dramas.
According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, it is rumored that Laila is involved with one of the wealthiest men in the Arab world, and this man is willing to give Laila all the luxuries her hearts desire.
Laila stressed that the thought of resigning never occurred to her and that she is very attached to her career.
On a different note, Elwi has set a condition that she will not accept less than half a million Egyptian pounds to play the leading role in the upcoming film “That Al Matar” (Under the Rain,) alongside young Egyptian actor Ahmad Izz.
The actress stressed that unless the film makers meet her demand, she will not accept the role.
Laila is currently filming the scenes of her upcoming drama “Nour Al Sabah” (Morning Light), scheduled to air during the holy month of Ramadan.
Laila plays the role of a woman who is faced with a divorce and must drastically change her life to be able to support herself.
The drama is written by Majdi Sabri and directed by Sameer Saif.
