Egyptian actress Laila Elwi decided to organize an auction for a large number of pieces of her clothes and dresses provided and allocate the proceeds from the auction for the Palestinian Red Crescent.
She made an agreement with an appraiser to supervise the auction, which will be held at a Cairo grand hotel in the middle of next August.
“After loosing 18 kg. of weight and restoring my sliminess, I was surprised to see most of my clothes unsuitable for me. After consultation with friends I thought of allocating the price of these clothes for the Palestinian people in view of the fact that my clothes are from expensive brand,” Elwi told the London-based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
She added that she planned to offer a number of the dresses she wore during her films and plays for sale in the auction.
