Alongside prominent Egyptian singer Hani Shaker, Tunisian singer Latifa is scheduled to hold a grand performance in celebration of the “Sham El Naseem” festival. Latifa was chosen by the administration of the Egyptian local channel to be among other Egyptian singers to sing at the festival celebrating the coming of spring.

The grand event will be held at the Cairo International Conference Center and will also feature other singers from around the Arab world. According to the London based Elaph, Latifa arrived in Egypt coming from Lebanon, where she had just completed filming a new music video for the song “Amin Li Bait” under the direction of Lebanese director Randa Al Shahal.

On a different note, Latifa surprised her fans when she announced that she will appear as a guest star in the television drama series “Lahthat Harija” (Awkward Moments). The drama features a number of prominent actors like Yusra and Muna Zaki and will be screened on the Dubai satellite television channel.

The drama, directed by Sharif Arafa, will mark Latifa’s third endeavor as an actor.  The first was her role in the film “Sukoot Han Sawar,” (Quiet Filming in Process) directed by Yousif Shahin and she also appeared in the Lebanese play “Hukim Al Reyan.” (Rules of the Shepherds)

Latifa has joined the production company ‘Rotana,’ after signing a contract with president Salem Al Hindi at a special ceremony. Salem met with Latifa at the company’s offices in Beirut for the ceremony and expressed his gratitude for her joining the company.

The agreement was reached between the two parties after long negotiations. Latifa held negotiations with with ‘Alam El Phan’ and ‘Rotana’ consecutively in an effort to choose the most appropriate company.
