Latifa sings for Prince Badr Bin Abdul Muhsin
Tunisian singer Latifa has announced that after a desire that lasted over three years, she will be singing a song written by renowned poet Prince Badr Bin Abdul Muhsin. The delay of her latest album was mainly based on the fact that she was waiting for an acceptance from the Prince.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Latifa had met with the Prince several times at different events in Lebanon and Paris, in which she expressed her admiration to his works and how she would be honored to sing one of his poems. Soon after, the Prince wrote a poem for Latifa, which she accepted wholeheartedly.
Composer Mohammad Shafiq, who is also the middle man between Latifa and Muhsin, composed the lyrics of the poem adding that the singer holds an outstanding talent for singing. The song is now ready for release after it was composed and recorded in Cairo by Latifa.
Latifa’s collection for her new album will include two songs composed a number of prominent composers. The singer has expressed that she feels it’s a great honor to work with Rahbani as it adds tremendously to her career.
The album, produced by “Alam Al Fan”(World of Art), will includes variety of songs and many surprises, with a Khaliji song written by Prince Badr Bin Abdul Muhsin. The song, entitled "La Ana Ansa" (I Won't Forget), will mark Latifa's debut with a Khaliji song. The song's composer, Mohammed Shafiq said that "the work came upon Latifa's wish to have a joint project with Prince Badr, and for his part the Prince welcomed the idea and worked on 'La Ana Ansa' poem."
On a different note, Latifa denied all circulating rumors of a love relationship with a businessman and all news of an engagement. Latifa expressed shock to friends and family over the rumor of a possible marriage to a man whom she knows nothing about.
Latifa said that these rumors hold no ground to them and are just attempts to whirl her back into the world of gossip by ill minded individuals.
Rumors had it that after a separation that lasted over four years, Latifa returned to her former love a businessman, whom she is currently living a romantic love story with. Latifa had previously left her to be fiancé four years ago for reasons she wished not to reveal. –Albawaba.com
