Like always, Tunisian artist Latifa takes her time choosing the best projects for her fans and she has accomplished what she aims for when she worked with the Lebanese composer Ziad Al Rahabani on her album “Bi Nus Al Jaw”. The critics of her previous album were divided in opinions; however, at the end it came out as a successful album and Latifa was able to feature variety in her work. Latifa was able to be part of the Rahabani School which is considered to be a dream for all of the music artist.

As for now Latifa is getting ready to release a new album that will be distributed throughout the Arab World by the music production company Rotana. Latifa just arrived to Beirut few days ago to supervise the design of her album cover, because she already finished filming the picture for weeks ago. Latifa has also asked her fans to send her their opinion of might be the new cover of the album through her internet site Latifa online. The new album will be released by the first half of the month of July.

According to the London daily Elaph, Latifa worked on her new album “Fe Al Kam Youm Eli Fato” (In the few days that just passed) with a number of well-known poets like the late poet Abed Al Wahab Muhammad, Baha AL Deen Muhammad, Isam Husni, and for the first time with Nader Abdullah and Jamal Kholi. As for composers Latifa worked with Nasir Shamah, Amjad Al Atifi, and Walid Saed and for the first time with Tamer Ali, Muhammad Yehya and Hamdi Sadiq. Latifa also worked with the music distributers Tamim, ISam Al Shiryati, Toma and Hasan Shafie.

As for her live concerts, Latifa is scheduled to have a busy summer starting out in Tunisia where she’ll be singing in a number of Tunisian cities and she will be part of the ‘Carthage Festival’ as well. She will also have a number of performances in Algeria at the “Tim Ghad and Al Qatheef” Festivals. Latifa will also participate in the award ceremony in honoring the late Lebanese poet Nizar Al Qabani, where she sang some of his poetry with the Iraqi singer Kathem Al Saher and other music artists.

It is needless to say that Latifa will be filming a video clip for one of the songs from her newest album with a foreign director who she had previously worked with on her song “Ma Troohish Baeed” (Don’t Go Far). She is also getting ready for a cinema project that is written specifically for her by the female writer Ahlam Misghanmy.

Latifa says that she is very pleased to have worked with the Lebanese composer Ziad Al Rahabani, and she adds that she wanted to work with him on the new album but the situation in Lebanese made it difficult. Latifa made sure that there will be more project together in the future. As for Latifa’s new album, she says that “it is different than her previous albums and it holds many surprises”. Latifa also makes sure that she doesn’t like singing political songs, but she has a song in her new album that talks about the Arabs situation and it is called “Kona Zaman Aqwa” (We were stronger in the past).

Latifa doesn’t favor one Arab country over the other when she is singing in different Arab dialects, she adds that singing in different dialect doesn’t hurt the singer on the contrary it adds to his/her success. Latifa also made sure that she doesn’t need a passport to be considered an Egyptian, because she says that she has been living in Egypt for the past 20 years; therefore, Egypt is part of her.
