After her return from France, the Tunisian singer Latifa revealed that she had received an offer to play the starring role in a French film.

The renowned singer was in France to participate as a jury member in Fiba Festival for Long Films and TV Programs.

“The success of my film Sukoot Hansawwar (Quiet, We Will Shoot) directed by Yousef Shahin was the reason behind selecting me as a jury member for this festival,” Latifa told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.

Latifa participated in the jury upon an invitation from the French Ministry of Culture. At the one-week festival the English film La Takon Tayyiban (Don’t be Good) won the prize for best film while the polish film In His Honor won the festival’s silver prize.

On the other hand, Latifa is currently wrapping up her new album which consists of eight songs written by a number of Egyptian young poets and composed by French, Tunisian, Libyan and British composers. The album is scheduled to be released in the upcoming summer -- Albawaba.com
