The Tunisian singer Latifa received few days ago the golden award of the Middle East Radio Corporation for her song al Masri (the Egyptian) which she performed in the film Sukout Hansawar (quiet, we will shoot) under the direction of Yousef Shahin.

The song was composed by musician Omar Khairat and was selected as best artworks in the annual poll.

The Tunisian singer who spends most of her work in Egypt where her art activities center, has recently returned to Cairo after she has represented Egypt at the International Advertising Festival held in Beirut and where she performed a concert at Casino de Liban.

On the other hand, Latifa has postponed the release of her new album, which was scheduled for release this year, “in solidarity with the Palestinian people,” Latifa told the London-based daily al Hayat.

She added, “I will perform two concerts at Cartage Festival next month and the revenues to be generated from them will be allocated for the Palestinian people.” -- Albawaba.com
