Egyptian director Ismail Abdul Hafez stopped the filming of the TV drama series “Kanaryeh and Friends” for one week, when the leading actress Lucy passed out and fell into a sudden coma. The actress/dancer was shooting the scenes for one of the episode when she suddenly collapsed and was then rushed to hospital.
According to the UAE based daily, the reason behind Lucy’s sudden health failure was not revealed, except that she is currently in hospital getting the proper rest needed. It was added that Ismail had already fully completed the shooting of 15 episodes, which is the minimal requirement set by the Egyptian broadcasting company for any television drama series wanting to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan.
Previously, a con-artist who was arrested by Egyptian customs police for the smuggling of cloths in her car had used Lucy’s name and claimed to be her. The news that was leaked out to the press did not include the fact that the fraud had used the dancer’s name as a cover-up and so all tabloids published that Lucy was the one in fact arrested.
The con-artist’s name is Soria Mahmoud Said Al Masri, and goes by the name Lucy, whereas the real name of the belly dancer is Anam Saed Mohammad Abdul Wahab. It was added that Soria had refused to come to terms with the customs officials and therefore her case was moved to a higher court under the charges of smuggling cloths that are worth over 250 thousand Egyptian pounds. Soria was freed on a bail of 5 thousand Egyptian pounds and is ordered to remain in Egypt until her trial. -Albawaba.com
