Recently, Lebanese singer/actress Madeline Matar agreed to star in the new film “Kithbah O Qalibat Jad” (A Lie Became True). The film is directed by Akram Farid and it will be starring Hasan Husni and Majdi Kamel. The film will be produced by Al Sabki production.
The story of the film revolves around a girl that has been living in a European city for more than 20 years. Afterward she returns to her home country, Egypt, and discovers secrets from her past that she knew nothing about. Madeline sings three different songs throughout scenes from the film.
According to the London daily Elaph, it is needless to say that Al Sabki is trying to include as many Lebanese singers in their films as possible; in order to keep the profits very high. As long as the main or leading actress is a Lebanese singer; therefore, the film sells very well.
