Madonna to host Lebanon’s Miss Model
The Lebanese singer Madonna along with Hani Al Omari will host the Miss Model of Lebanon event due to be held on December 14th. The event will take place at the city of Jubail under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism.
Twenty contestants will participate in the big event taking home prizes worth thousands of dollars.
Late September, Lebanon hosted the “Model of the World’ event which featured thirty-four beauties participating from all over the world.
The event, which used to be held in Europe before, took place at Lebanon’s Regency Palace. Half of the twelve juries at the event were from Lebanon and the rest from Europe.
Model Sereen Abdul Noor was the only Arab model to participate in the ‘Model of the World’ competition, which was organized by ‘Style Events’ agency owner, Elie Nahas.
Madonna returned in August after not performing in her country from her performances for nearly a year. She scheduled appearances in the Lebanese districts, Ba’albak, Jubail and Tripoli after she finished recording her latest song ‘Aman’ (Safe) that was due to be played during her concerts.
Last year the Lebanese singer ended a long period of celibacy by marrying the man of her dreams and a successful businessman. Madonna told Asharq Al Awsat daily that her daughter Maud had grown up, and was able to look after herself, and thus decided it was time to remarry.
Over the years, Madonna has carved out a special position on the local and Arab music scene with her spectacular shows and upbeat stage presence. Madonna underwent a tour in the United States to promote her album entitled “Helli Ya Dama’a” (Go Away My Tear). So far, her two most famous songs remain “Wala Ya Sa’aidi” and “Abousak Alfi Bossa” (I Kiss You One Thousand Kisses) – Albawaba.com
