An alleged visit by Madonna to the Scottish cathedral where she's said to be getting hitched to Guy Ritchie, the father of her son and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director, is doing nothing to disprove those wedding rumors.

British newspapers are running blurry photos of the purported bride- and groom-to-be stepping out of a private jet at a Scottish airport, supposedly on their way to visit Dornoch Cathedral near Inverness.

The singer has reportedly said she will marry the British film director, but not until next year.

Newspapers have speculated that that's just so much PR distraction, and that the couple will tie the knot at the cathedral Dec. 22, followed by a lavish ceremony at nearby Skibo Castle.

London's Daily Mail quoted an unnamed maid at Madonna's London home as saying, "They are not at home. I think they have gone to Scotland." Hold on, a maid thinks they may be in Scotland? That's good enough for us, it must be a sure thing.

Madonna's spokeswoman, Barbara Charone, told the Daily Mail, "I think it is unlikely that they are in Scotland. They are not there, as far as I know." Well, with a private jet at her disposal, the pop icon could be almost anywhere.

The British press is also claiming a Madonna and Ritchie sighting at Skibo Castle.

The castle, a turreted fortress on Scotland's northeast coast, is a favorite backdrop for the weddings of the rich and famous. The castle owners have refused to comment on whether the singer has made any bookings there. – Albawaba.com.
