Lebanese singer Majeda al Roomi, FAO’s international ambassador, is gearing up for a fact-finding tour about the people’s conditions in a number of Arab and African countries to report them to the organization officials, according to the London-based daily al Sharq al Awsat.
The tour is scheduled to start at the beginning of next summer.
The Lebanese singer performed a special Christmas concert in the Italian capital. Al Roomi took the opportunity of being in Rome to meet the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) officials to discuss with them the future steps which she intends to take being the holder of the title FAO’s Ambassador from Lebanon.
Earlier al Roomi wrapped up shooting a musical video entitled Nasheed Al Hobb (love anthem) directed by Charles Swaya, who designed the work to in a way that suits the new status of Roomi.
Meanwhile, Roomi will begin shooting the film in which she will play a starring role along with the Egyptian film star Ahmed Zaki. She is currently waiting for the final film script being examined by Zaki in Cairo to make some amendments as she requested.
