Majida Al Roumi for the first time with Naser Mahrous
Prominent Lebanese singer Majida Al Roumi was recently in Cairo where she met the famous producer Naser Mahrous to discuss a possible cooperation with him for her next album. Majida is trying to offer more songs to the youth in an attempt to attract a younger audience.
According to the London based Elaph, Majida's pervious cooperation with Naser was only in composing some of her songs and was never in producing. Nasser is said to be currently very busy these days after discovering the new singing star Shireen and focusing his attention on her.
Majida is participating this year in Al Doha cultural festival, which is going to be held in Qatar starting March 12,2004 and ending on the 20th of March. Al Doha cultural festival program will include a play by Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam entitled “Body Guard” on March 10, 11, 12. Majida Al Roumi’s concert on March 12, and Adonis and Naseer Shamma poetry and musical night on march 13. Opera Carmen will hold a performance on March 14, along with Marseil Khalifah. American singer Lionel Richie is scheduled to hold a live concert on March 15. A play by Abdul Aziz Jasem entitled “Hawamir” on March 18, 19, 20 and a play for children entitled “The Seven Dwarfs” on March 17, 18, 19.
The festival will include lectures by Qatari foreign minister Hamad bin Jasem and Amer Musa, the festival will also include many art exhibitions and poetry nights. A Walt Disney carnival will take place on the last day of the festival.
Majida also revealed that she is preparing to shoot a music video for one of the songs from her upcoming album under the direction of internationally known director Stein Wakrun. The singer added that she also plans on shooting a second music video under the direction of Jamil Al Maghazi.
In her upcoming album, Majida has included a new song, which talks about the nature of her relationship with her husband and is her last message to him. In the song, Majida is indirectly telling her only love to return and begin a new life together forgetting all the hurt and pain that has taken over their lives. -Albawaba.com
