Lebanon’s classical vocalist Majida Al Roumi will give two concerts at Unesco Palace on June 22 and 23. Proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to Lebanese non-governmental organizations, according to thisiscyberia.com.
The first concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of the House of the Lebanese Child. This non-governmental organization is known for giving shelter to children born in a harsh or even abusive environment and help them to become balanced adults.
The second concert corresponds with the start of the renovation of the Islamic Organization for Higher Guidance’s mansion in south Lebanon. The building will be restored and transformed into a home for the elderly.
“The organization financially assists people above 64 years of age,” its lawyer Mohammad Issa told thisiscyberia.com. “The house was recently donated to us by a Lebanese man living abroad.”
Majida Al Roumi is the daughter of singer/ musician Halim Al Roumi, a well-known composer for the Rahbani brothers.
