Majoob and Maysa ride Fahed Balan’s horse
New singers Mahjoob and Maysa have decided to sing a classic tune by the late Syrian singer Fahed Balan, called “Rkibna Ala Al Hosan” (We Rode The Horse).
The song was a great success in the 1960’s and brought Fahed Balan fame in Egypt and throughout the Arab World. Balan performed the saong during his last live concert in Cairo in the early 1990’s. His fans asked Balan to sing it several times.
According to the London daily Elaph, the duo Mahjoob and Maysa will add a fresh touch to the song and they also filmed a music video clip to be aired this upcoming summer season. Jamil Jamil Al Maghazi directed the new clip. Filming took place in Alexandria, Egypt, for two days. The clip is about a love story between a man and a woman.
The song is written by the great poet Mustafa Al Damrani, composed by Khaled Al Amir, and it was redistributed by Basim Monir.
The young music artist Mahjoob has a great attachment to the song. He has been listening to the song since he was a little boy living in Syria, said Mahjoob.
Mahjoob and Maysa recently released their first album, including eight songs. They filmed a video clip for one of the songs, currently being aired on ‘Zoom’ and ‘Mazika’ music channels. The song is becoming famous among young listeners.
Mahjoob and Maysa are becoming of great interest to the media. They are scheduled to hold a number of live concerts in Egypt, Syria and Lebanon this summer.
