The Egyptian actress May Iz Al Deen said that she prays nightly during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the Jordanian daily Al Rai, May denied rumors that she only wears a “Hijab” (Muslim women’s head covering) in the daytime and removes it at night during the holy month of Ramadan.
May stressed that she does not wear the Hijab during Ramadan and keeps it on for half a day saying that “If I did wear the Hijab, I would do not remove it, because I respect my religion,” said May. “Wearing a Hijab is not a game, I take it very seriously.”
May said that during the month of Ramadan she makes many “Iftar” (breaking of the fast) parties for her friends and family, since everyone is very busy throughout the year and during Ramadan they are more relaxed.
May also said that she goes to “Taraweeh” prayers at the Mosque next to her home with her mother every night during Ramadan.
May wanted to go to “Mecca” to make the smaller pilgrimage “Omrah” with her mother, but her mother’s sickness prevented them from making it possible, she said.
