According to the London daily Elaph, the famous Egyptian actress May Iz Al Deen and Egyptian soccer player Muhammad Zidan quietly broke-off their engagement.
May declined to talk to the press about their decision, only stating, “This is God’s wish.”
May and Zidan only recently got engaged.
Prior to the engagement May had denied rumors in the media about the romantic relationship between her and Zidan, asserting they were only good friends.
May was spotted watching a soccer game between the Egyptian and Brazilian teams, cheering for Zidan, fueling the rumors. On another occasion May was photographed wearing a t-shirt with the number 9 on it, Zidan’s number with the Egyptian team.
Zidan said that he always wanted to marry a traditional Egyptian woman with strong values to raise their children, after deciding not to get engaged to his Dutch girlfriend named Shatila.
Certain internet websites have recently indicated that Zidan has gotten back together with Shatila.
Zidan’s friends have denied that he has any relationship with anyone.
Other rumors claim that there is a young Egyptian young artist that ruined his relationship with May.
