Maya Nasri seeks security with Rotana
Lebanese singer Maya Nasri has for the past two years been suffering terribly with her previous production company, which had postponed her latest album for over a year. Maya had been treated badly by her company which refused to give justifications for postponing her album and not meeting most of the terms in her contract.
According to the London based Elaph, Maya finally broke free from the company and she has finally begun to reveal the misery she was feeling with them publicly in most of the interviews she holds. It has also been revealed that the singer may shift to Rotana production company, which has since the summer been showing exceptional interest in her and her music. The singer is debating whether the shift to Rotana will make up for the misery she has felt in the past years, and is hopeful if she makes the decision to move she will be treated fairly and rightfully as she feels she deserves.
Nasri has strongly refused an offer by Egyptian actor Farouq Al Fishawi to star in a new film he has been preparing for. Farouq had offered Maya a leading role as a Lebanese singer in the film who is very successful but has no values for social ethics and her only concern is to cheat wealthy men out of their money in any means possible.
Maya stressed that no matter how much money she is offered for the role, she will not under any circumstance accept such a part that hurts the reputation of Lebanese. She added that she has too much respect for her profession and for all Lebanese woman and will not take part in anything that shows otherwise.
Maya noted that she holds great respect towards Farouq and is pleased he had nominated her to star in his film, but wished that the role was in favor of Lebanese singers showing how their music has broken through to the top of music charts and found acceptance worldwide, not against them.
Maya release her latest music video, which was filmed in Egypt, on all local and satellite TV stations. Her new album features a collection of songs sung in the Lebanese and Egyptian styles and was composed and written by prominent poets artists from both countries. Maya had recorded some of the songs in Egypt during one of her visits. Maya chose the song “Low Indak Kalb” (If You Had a Heart) to be the main one to hold the album’s title, which she also filmed in the form of music video in Egypt under the direction of Ahmad Al Mahdi. The clip was first aired on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company (LBC) satellite channel. After an absence that lasted over a year, Nasri returned to the music scenes with her latest hit single "Haba Hubat" (One Piece of Love). - Albawaba.com
