Prominent Syrian singer Mayada Al Hinawi returned to the historical theater stage of Carthage to give a spectacular performance in celebration of the Tunisian Women’s Day. The remarkably successful concert drew an audience of over nine thousand.
According to the London based Elaph, Mayada expressed her joy in taking part in such important occasion, and stressed the importance of women’s roles in society.
The singer sang a collection of her older songs upon audience request.
Fans at the concert revealed that the singer’s performance along with that of Marcel Khalifa and Hani Shaker earlier this month, had brought back the true essence of Arab music to Tunisia.
Mayada denied rumors alleging that disputes had erupted between her and producer Muhsin Jabr, owner of Alam El Phan Production Company. She affirmed that she has no intention of breaking her contract to sign a new one with ‘Rotana.’ The singer revealed that she is on excellent terms with Muhsin and that she has just renewed her agreement with the company.
Jabr has agreed to release a new album for Mayada every two years, and will handle the necessary preparations and advertisements under the contract.
