Melanie Griffith Goes Home
Just three days after publicly announcing that she had entered rehab for an addiction to prescription painkillers, actress Melanie Griffith said she had returned home.
Griffith, 43, planned to keep a recovery journal on her personal Web site, www.oneworldlive.com On Friday, she posted an entry that read, “Hello my friends, I am home with my family now, after what was a rough eight days [at the treatment center]!
“I will tell you my story in due time, but right now my family needs me, and I need them. I wish you all the loveliest weekend and I will write more to you on Monday! Sending trillions of kisses! Melanie.”
However, Griffith, who is married to Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, left no entries.
Banderas and the actress have have a daughter, Stella del Carmen. Griffith has one other daughter, Dakota, from her former husband, Don Johnson, and a son, Alexander, from another ex, Steven Bauer.
On Nov. 14, Griffith’s rep read a statement from the soft-voiced star: “My doctor has referred me to the Daniel Freeman Hospital to step down from the prescribed medication that I have been taking for a neck injury.”
“I appreciate everyone’s concern, and I am sure that you will respect my and my family’s privacy. With love, Melanie.”
Griffith was reportedly admitted to a nonprofit Catholic facility in the Marina Del Rey area of Los Angeles, where she was to undergo a 12-step in-house program. – Albawaba.com.
