The military allows Tamer Husni to sing
General Hussein Tantawi of the Egyptian Armed Forces has announced that the military has given its approval for Egyptian singer Tamer Husni to hold concerts, and he will be singing at the Chinese Hall in Nasr City. Owner of the company that is organizing the first entertaining event for Tamer since his release from prison said that the concert will be held on the last Thursday of the current year.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Tamer is currently serving in the military and he is not allowed to hold concerts without the military’s approval. Once the military gave the singer the green light to perform, preparations began for the big event that is expected to be one of a kind and achieve tremendous success.
Recently, Husni had attempted to return to the cinema in secrecy. Sources revealed that the singer began work on his new film “Salma and Omar,” starring Ezzat Abu Ouf, Rami Sameer Waheed, and directed by Akram Fareed.
Filming has begun in the town of Mansourieh. The film has been postponed for eight months, and now Tamer hopes to complete the film in the shortest time possible. Although, by resuming his acting career Tamer may have violated the terms of his probation, which states that he must receive permission for such activities.
The singer’s attorney said that Tamer is permitted to hold musical performances as long as he first gets the military court’s approval.
Tamer and his best friend Haitham Shaker were imprisoned after they were found guilty of forging military documents to avoid military service.
Despite the physical and psychological hardships Tamer faced in prison, he took advantage of his time by working on new entertainment projects. He wrote three screenplays while incarcerated, and even secured the cast and crew of the film “Kul Sana Wi Inta Habibi” (Every Year and You are My Lover).
Husni’s popularity increased dramatically after serving six months in jail.
