Egyptian Singer Mohamed al-Helou was arrested and held in prison on 3 charges of bounced checks following a court prison sentence of 7 years, according to ArabStars.com.
The court verdict was pronounced in favor of couple of companies with whom al-Helou had some dealings and to whom he had issued three checks which bounced due to insufficient funds.
The earlier court judgement sentenced al-Helou to 2 years in jail for each of the two offenses, and three years for the third offense. A fourth sentence against al-Helou was dropped after he managed to pay the amount due.
