Mohammad Abdo to launch new satellite channel

Prominent Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo, also referred to as the Arab Artist, has announced that he refuses to sign contracts for exclusivity with any production company and that the new satellite television channel he intends on launching is not solely a music one. The singer stressed that he had refused to sign an exclusivity contract with Rotana and the contract he has with them is merely to produce a set number of albums on preset dates and the contract ends once these works are complete.

 

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, with regards to the new channel the singer revealed that it will include some music but is not based on that alone and will feature different services. He added that he is currently researching to find out what other satellite channels are missing in terms of programs and services, in order to include them in his.

 

The Music Production Company Rotana has suggested to Abdo the idea of singing a duet with prominent Lebanese singer Najwa Karam. Mohammad has given his initial acceptance to the idea on the conditions that he looks over the words of the song, in addition to composing it. Abdo also requests to look over all other the details concerning the new project.

 

Najwa gave her acceptance to the proposal and agreed to all of Mohammad’s conditions without hesitation. Najwa stressed that she holds very high respect for Mohammad and his achievements as a singer, who has given so much to the music industry in the Arab world.
