The destruction of two cars and three injured people was the outcome of the heated welcoming of Egyptian winner of the popular Star Academy, Mohammad Attia upon his arrival home. The moment Mohammad had set foot in Cairo Airport, he was shocked to see thousands of young Egyptians waiting for him all wanting to express their admiration towards him and give him a warm home welcoming.

Airport security were forced to take Mohammad into the VIP waiting rooms, in order to protect him from the mob of people and prepare a private car to escort him home among strong security. Despite all the security measures that were taken to protect Mohammad, once he left the waiting room, the crowd stormed towards him leading three people to fall and become injured. Some of the crowd began climbing on cars wanting to get a glimpse of Mohammad and destroying the cars, according to the daily, Al Anwar.

The final episode of the weekly popular show “Star Academy”, which was considered one of the most popular shows in the Arab world, ended with announcing 20-year-old Attia the winner of Star Academy defeating his Kuwaiti opponent 21-year-old Bashar Al Shati.

The final episode witnessed a large crowd of people all anxious to find out who will walk away with the title that 12 contestants had begun working towards four months ago. The last six contestants who left the academy after they were eliminated from the contest before the final episode were all present and each featured a performance.

Syrian singer Asalah Nasri was held as the special guest, after Algerian singer Warda was forced to turn down her invitation to be present on the final episode of the show due to the fact that her health condition was deteriorating, along with Lebanese singer Ghassan Saliba. The final episode also witnessed numerous reportages about each student and certain events that happened during their stay at the academy.

The next step for the students of the academy is a tour around the Arab world, which is scheduled to begin during the end of April with the first stop being in Bahrain and ending in Lebanon. Upon winning the title of Star Academy, Mohammad has so far been receiving numerous offers to star in different works for television and the cinema. –Albawaba.com
