Egyptian singer Mohammad Foad has agreed to pay a fine of 10 thousand Egyptian pounds to director Mohammad Kamal Al Shinawi for firing him at the last minute from the crew for his new film “Ghawi Hubb.”
Kamal filed a complaint to the Cinema Association against Foad demanding compensation, stressing that he had turned down several offers for the sake of directing Foad’s film. Kamal explained that he had worked endlessly with Foad on the film, and although they argued over certain details, he was shocked by Foad’s sudden decision to replace him with another director.
Foad did not hesitate to pay the fine set by the Association, rapidly ending the dispute.
In a shocking move, young Egyptian actress Hala Shiha has returned to the set of the film, after withdrawing from it last month. The actress revealed that a misunderstanding had occurred between her and the producers, but did not give any specific details. She stated that all of the problems have now been resolved, adding that the producers had finally agreed to some of her conditions when they failed to find a replacement for her.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, a special ceremony was held in celebration of Shiha’s return by the cast and crew of the film.
The movie, which is to be filmed in Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh, revolves around a troubled romance between Shiha and Foad. Foad sings three passionate love songs for Shiha during the course film.
