The German Embassy in Cairo held Egyptian singer Mohammad Muneer as guest of honor at special music festival it held. At the event Mohammad sang with the German band Shalsick Brace, which is known to be the most popular band in Germany that plays different styles of music internationally.
According to the London based Elaph, the event witnessed a very crowd of people, who enjoyed listening to different blends of music both western and oriental. The highlight of the festival was the moments when both western and oriental music were blended together leaving the audience mesmerized and gave them a sense of unity between nations. Muneer had previously worked with the band Shalsick Brace back in 1998 and had produced the song "Madad Ya Rasool Allah".
Muneer had previously announced that he will never stop singing because he is not singing for a specific individual or power. He added that he sings for his fans that trust him and eagerly await for his musical albums.
Muneer says that a song starts as a dream and the artist translate it into words and brings it to life. He started singing Nubian tunes and then evolved until he climbed up to the peak and began having many fans among cultured and high class people.
"Freedom is not a glimmering word that we use, its actual acts and behavior that we see in our own daily life." Muneer explained. Muneer is currently working on his new musical album, adding that he is going to sing old songs for the late singer Mohammed Taha. He explains that signing old songs is like rediscovering old treasures and it reconnects people with their traditions and history.
Muneer has his own style in singing which is not matched by any other singer or style that we know. He is so unique that you cannot find any resemblance between him and any other singer. Muneer sang old songs that all Arabs used to hear them all the time, but when he did them they did not look like any thing heard before. He creates his own influence on the song that makes it seem that one is hearing it for the first time. Mohammed is a new phenomenon in the world of Arab singing, and has decided to create his own school of singing matching the great school of the Lebanese Rahbani brothers with Fairouz. – Albawaba.com
